The beginning stages of Otto's room

Jef and I went to Lowe's last weekend to pick out the paint we wanted for Otto's room. I've stressed for a long time over what his room should look like. After looking through all of the boy bedding and decor online and in stores, I decided I hated it ALL. None of it fit our personality or aesthetics. Finally, I stumbled upon a blog that had some really cute nursery ideas. One little boy's room really stood out to me and Jef loved it when I showed it to him. This is where our inspiration is going to come from, but we won't end up completely copying it.

Over Halfway There!!

May 17th, I had to go back for a follow up ultrasound because Otto wasn't cooperating back in April and they didn't get all of the measurements they needed. He was a bit more feisty this time when on camera and seemed to fight back at times when the lady would press on him. Every time she would try to get a 3D pic of his face he had his hands in the way, but she ended up getting some OK shots.

I also had to have a Glucose Test to check for Gestational Diabetes. At first I thought the "Fruit Punch" drink I had to chug wasn't so bad, then I got to the 2nd gulp. *GROSS* I hope I pass because I don't want to experience that again. I felt like crap for the rest of the day and just worked through it.
*Update: The office just called with the results that I had high glucose, so now I have to go back to the Dr. for the 3 hour test on Friday. I have to arrive at 8:30am and drink that nasty stuff and have my blood drawn THREE times. She recommended I bring a book or something to do since I will be there for so long. It also turns out I'm slightly anemic, so I have to take an OTC Iron Supplement.

May 18th ends 24 out of 40 weeks down. (3 more weeks until 3rd trimester gets here). I can't believe how quickly time is passing. It feels like May just started and now it is already halfway over. Where have I been? I managed to freak myself out the other day (not difficult for me to do) when I realized we have at most 16 Saturdays left to get everything done. They are filling up fast!!

This weekend (5/21) my friend, Christina, is coming to help paint Otto's Room (pictures to come soon). Jef is getting at ton of overtime at Epiphone in the next week and will be working these next 2 Saturdays. I'm thankful to have friends that are willing to help out with anything we need!!

May 22nd, Jef and I will celebrate our SEVENTH year of marriage. What?! Time strikes again!! How quickly time flies when your husband tours 200+ dates a year for the first 5 years 8 months of your marriage. While it was nice getting to travel with him from time to time, I'm thankful to have my husband HOME everyday!   

I'm looking forward to the Memorial Day weekend because this begins pool season! The Longview Rec Center pool opens on May 31st (Tuesday, weird I know) and I couldn't be more excited!!! It is only ONE mile from our house. If anyone is looking for me this summer, I can be found there every Saturday!!!
